Toyota and its Entities in Thailand Join Forces to Fight COVID-19, Providing Support of Vehicles and Essential Supplies to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior under “Toyota Stay With You” Project

        Mr.Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, and Mr. Michinobu Sugata, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co.,Ltd., alongside the top executives of the company, Toyota Dealer and Supplier Group, honored their presence in the ceremony to grant support to fight COVID-19 under “Toyota Stay With You” project. Under this initiative, Toyota is providing contributions of vehicles, essential supplies and Rachamongkol rice worth 66 million THB in total to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior of Thailand, in a bid to assist medical professionals and offer immediate relief from COVID-19 for those affected by the outbreak.

Mr. Michinobu Sugata, President of Toyota Motor Thailand, stated, “Amidst the spread of COVID-19 in Thailand, we truly respect all related parties who have dedicated their full effort in working together for the sake of the public around the clock. We would like to reaffirm that Toyota stays side by side with all these people. We are deeply aware of the considerable needs for various supports to relieve the disease outbreak, while also deeply realizing the needs of those affected by the situation. Therefore, we have powered up with Toyota Mobility Foundation, and Toyota Dealer and Supplier Group, to provide supports of vehicles, essential supplies and Rachamongkol rice. The contribution is provided to help medical and healthcare professionals, related parties of the Ministry of Interior, and those who are affected by COVID-19 in order to control the spread of the coronavirus.”

Details of the support under the collaboration of Toyota Motor Thailand, together with Toyota Mobility Foundation, and Toyota Dealer and Toyota Supplier Group, to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior of Thailand during COVID-19 outbreak with details are as follows;

    1. The Ministry of Public Health  

- 40 Toyota vans to support the transportation of related authorities of Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, during their mission for the treatment of COVID-19 cases. Details of vehicle supports are;

1) Toyota Mobility Foundation, an independent non-profit foundation, will support 10 units of Toyota Commuter Specially Modified for Healthcare professionals, equipped with connectivity and sanitation features. 

2) Toyota Motor Thailand will support 10 units of Toyota Majesty Standard type and 20 units of Toyota Commuter.

- 50 tons of Rachamongkol rice to support medical and healthcare professionals who are treating COVID-19 patients at the hospitals.  

- 3,000 Aerosol Boxes have been developed under the collaboration of Toyota Motor Thailand and its suppliers to be used by medical professionals and to help mitigate the risk of virus spread during the treatment. 

- 20,000 units of face shields made by Toyota Volunteers for medical professionals to wear in order to protect their face during the treatment of COVID-19 cases. 

    2. The Ministry of Interior

- 100 Toyota Corolla Altis cars and 150 Toyota Hilux Revo cars to support the mission of related authorities in solving the COVID-19 situation, such as interagency coordination, tracking of infected patients, situation surveillances, screening and extraction points.

- 77 tons of Rachamongkol rice to support related authorities of the Ministry of Interior countrywide who are fighting COVID-19. We will support 1 ton of rice for every province in Thailand and the rice will be dispatched through Toyota dealer nationwide to ensure prompt support is efficiently delivered.

        Mr. Surasak Suthongwan, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand, said, “After we have recently rolled out preventive measures to ensure a maximum level of hygiene and sanitation at all touch points of our showrooms and service centers, as well as offering bacteria and virus disinfection service for customers’ vehicles nationwide with 30,000 cars having received the service to date, accounting for 28,500 Toyota cars and 1,500 cars of other makes, Toyota Leasing (Thailand), which is part of our Toyota Family, is providing a payment relief option of up to 90 days to customers of all professions who are affected by the COVID-19 situation. Customers may be eligible to take advantage of the moratorium by submitting an online application by Toyota Leasing. The value of service and moratorium is approximately 120 MB, while the support of vehicles, essential supplies and Rachamongkol rice to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior is valued at 66 MB. All in all, our total contribution is worth over 186 MB”

        Mr. Surapoom Udomwong, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand, added, “The support of vehicles, essential supplies, and Rachamongkol rice are derived by the close collaboration between Toyota dealers, suppliers, and affiliates under our Toyota Family. Our objective is to provide supports and to help mitigate the burden of medical professionals and all relates parties who have been working tirelessly to conquer this immense hardship. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this highly challenging situation.”

        Mr. Michinobu Sugata, concluded, “Toyota’s supports this time may not be compared with the considerable dedication and devotion of all the doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, and the Ministry of Interior officials who have been working untiringly on the front line. Toyota Motor Thailand and Toyota Family would like to express our most sincere gratitude and convey our best regards to all medical and healthcare professionals, as well as related authorities, and most significantly to all the Thai people.  Together, we believe that all of us will eventually get through the challenging situation of COVID-19 outbreak.”
