Toyota confirms 2 more cases of employees infected with COVID-19 (following the first confirmed case) at Toyota Samrong and Gateway
Following one confirmed COVID-19 case on 19 March 2020 of an employee who works in Administration office (Non-Production area) at Toyota Gateway, Chachoengsao province, Toyota Motor Thailand immediately implemented measures to prevent the spread and infection within the organization as well as instructing all the quarantine suspects (those who work closely with the infected) to observe their conditions and home-quarantine for 14 days and report back to the company so that the information can be passed on to the Ministry of Public Health.
As a result of the quarantine period, we found that two employees who work in Administration office (Non-Production area) at Toyota Samrong, Samutprakarn and Toyota Gateway, Chachoengsao, and are in the quarantine suspect group, have confirmed positive for COVID-19 on Mar 26. Therefore, we are making this announcement quickly. The company also follows the procedure of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, while following up closely and providing necessary care for infected employees.
Since the first confirmed case on 19 March 2020, the company has elevated the control measures to prevent further spread including working from home and social distancing.
The safety and security of our employees and all of our stakeholders is paramount to us. With that kept in mind, the company will strictly use control measures and prevent the spread of virus according to the practice guideline of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, onwards. The measures include but not limited to temporary closure and disinfection of the areas concerned in the company premises. Please note that, at this moment, the current situation will not significantly impact our production, sales and customers service operations. Please also be assured that the products and services of Toyota and Lexus are completely safe.
